Do you ever feel like you settle for less than you deserve in your relationships or career?
IT'S TIME TO MAKE YOU & YOUR DREAMS A PRIORITY - LET'S MAKE THEM A REALITY TOGETHER!
I absolutely love working with women to guide you in harnessing your unique awesomeness to live a life filled with joy, passion, purpose, courage, and conviction! As a Certified Life Coach and Certified Career Coach, I get to help my clients RESCRIPT their stories, speak to themselves and about themselves with compassion and confidence, and reach their unique personal and professional goals. Over the last 23 years, I've worked with countless women to guide them in achieving their dreams!
Life coaching is a transformational experience. And, as we know, big changes can be a bit scary. So, when considering hiring a life coach, we usually have a lot of questions. Let's see if we can answer these questions for you to help you determine if life coaching is a good fit for you!
Coaching versus Counseling - What's the Difference? Although I am a Licensed Professional Counselor with experience providing counseling previously, today I provide coaching, not counseling. You might be wondering--how is coaching different from counseling?
Counseling (also referred to as therapy) involves diagnosing psychological dysfunction and helping clients manage deeper level trauma, clinical disorders, and personality disorders. Counseling often explores a client's past and utilizes insights gained to resolve psychological and emotional traumas. Gaining insight is often a core focus of counseling.
Coaching involves helping clients who are feeling stuck in achieving their goals to get unstuck. Coaching is present and future-focused and does not delve into a client's past, except to identify and transform old, limiting patterns.
As your coach, I focus on exploring your life and/or career goals, as well as identifying the obstacles getting in the way of achieving those goals. I guide you in creating a roadmap for achieving what you want. I partner with you to design and implement actionable steps and benchmarks toward your goals, strategies for maintaining motivation and inspiration along the way, and customized follow-through and accountability methods.
Things We Might Achieve Together in Women's Empowerment Coaching We work on many of the same types of goals that we partner on in life and career coaching, however, we do so through the lens and focus of empowering yourself as a woman in each area of your life! For example, as women, we sometimes struggle to put ourselves and our needs at the top of our priority list (or sometimes, don’t put ourselves on our list at all). We work on this together. We break down thoughts and experiences that contribute to this and we transform them!
Together, we'll make sure you: Feel confident knowing that your knowledge & accomplishments ROCK & you can accomplish anything you put your mind to. Never settle for less than you rightfully deserve at work, in life, or in your relationships. Create and claim personal and professional opportunities, instead of waiting to receive whatever just comes your way. Make choices aligned with what you want to do, instead of what you (or others) think you should do. Stop accommodating everyone and everything else around you at the expense of your own wellbeing. Say "No" when you want to say "No" and create boundaries that protect your time and energy. Don't apologize when you've done nothing wrong to apologize for. Own and confidently express your words, wants, wisdom, and will. Value yourself and your own visibility in your relationships and in your workplace.

Dr. Colleen's RESCRIPT Framework (from her award-winning book, RESCRIPT) We have two very different mental narrators who talk to us in our minds—the Inner Antagonist and the Inner Advocate.
Your Inner Antagonist is your story’s inner opposing force. It tells you that you have disorder, conflict, weaknesses, and deficits within and around you, and that you do not have what it takes to resolve any of it. Your Inner Antagonist can also lead you to act in ways that are not aligned with your values and ultimate desires.
Your Inner Advocate has your back. It’s your inner ally, supporter, encourager, and collaborative problem solver. It tells you that you’re strong and capable. It reminds you of all the resources you have within and around you. It reminds you of the wisdom you’ve gained from life experience. It tells you that you can overcome anything. To amplify our Inner Advocate, we must RESCRIPT:
R - Release Rumination
E - Engage Growth Goals
S - Seek Strengths
C - Challenge Catastrophizing
R - Restrict Regret
I - Invite Imperfection
P - Pursue Passion & Purpose
T - Think Thankfully
My Role as Your Women’s Empowerment Coach

I have numerous exercises, worksheets, and resource guides to help you on your journey.
I am your accountability partner: I help you remain motivated, engaged, and on track toward achieving your short- and long-terms goals!
I am your External Advocate and champion: I help you see your strengths, accomplishments, passions, and purpose so you can live your fullest, limitless life. I help encourage, empower, and motivate you, and I celebrate you and all of the steps you take towards positively changing your life.

Sometimes we once knew it, but life struggles led us to forget. It's time for you to see it, own it, and use it to live a life you can really love. A life that kicks a$$. A life that packs a punch. Women's development, empowerment, and leadership have long been among my greatest passions and priorities. This passion ignited while I attended Douglass College, the women’s college at Rutgers University (class of 1997). Then, while in graduate school, I wrote my doctoral dissertation on women’s identity development and spent time volunteering on a women’s crisis hotline at a women’s non-profit, where I later worked as a counselor following graduation.
I ultimately spent six of my 13-year higher education administration career serving women students at my Alma Mater, Douglass College, and I've been teaching a women’s leadership course there since 2010. The large majority of my individual coaching clients have been women (fabulous and fierce women!) and I frequently present at women’s business and networking groups.
Furthermore, I have personally struggled with many of the same challenges as a woman that my students and clients have encountered. We must be our own strongest advocates while also helping to grow other women along our journey. I have spent many years transforming my own limiting beliefs and I love working with other women to do the same. Some of my most rewarding professional and personal experiences have been encouraging, empowering, and elevating women to love themselves, own their power, trust their instinct, use their strengths, passions, and purpose to make their mark in the world, and ultimately – VALUE THEIR VOICE! Here's a bit about my background and experience:
Providing life coaching and career coaching and conducting personal and career development workshops for 23 years.
Running my life coaching and career coaching business for 12 of these years.
Former Departmental Director and hiring manager at Rutgers University in my early 30s.
Teaching psychology, counseling, and leadership courses at Rutgers University and Middlesex County College for 12 years.
Doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Rutgers University (2003) and 30+ certificates and certifications in coaching and psychology, including certifications as a Life Coach, Career Coach, Positive Psychology Coach, Health & Nutrition Coach, Anxiety Specialist, Parent Educator, and Time Management Consultant. I also completed Rutgers University's Management Development Program, Business Supervisor Certificate, Supervisor Development Program, and Leadership Development Certificate.
Navigated several challenges and major decisions in my own life and career, including overcoming anxiety and panic attacks, getting divorced and remarried, and leaving salaried work to run my business, to name a few.
